Since I watched the documentary of Plitvice Lakes National Park on BBC few years back, I knew I am going to visit it at some point. From Split it was 3 to 4 hours drive. It was raining and I slept all the way in the van as I was so tired from the night before at UltraEurope festival. However when we reached Plitvice, the rain had stopped, the sky was clear, sun was out, it just couldn’t be a better day out. I was all refreshed and ready to explore in the park. After walking for a few minutes in the park I was in just in a bit of a shock. It was difficult to sink in the fact that it was exactly like I had it in my mind… seeing in the pictures and the documentary. It was utterly mesmerising. I don’t think I had ever seen so many different shades of emerald and azure at one place… so pure, so heavenly. No wonder its a UNESCO World Heritage site. There were loads of lakes, waterfalls, wooden bridges and paths everywhere. We even took a couple of short boat rides to cross the lakes. It was a wonderful day exploring the Plitvice National Park.
Jie couldn’t stop smiling all the way. Why would she. She was in a wonderland 🙂
On the way back we had a nice meal in a lovely Plitvice restaurant.
